Journey into the Forest

During a run

  • Brain: Why are you going so slow?
  • Lungs: I currently hate you.
  • Feet: I'm gonna turn into 10 pound weights now.
  • Legs muscles: I am going to start hurting in random places, kay?
  • Sidewalk: I really want to trip you in one of my holes or bumps.
  • People in cars: *hoooonk* Run Forrest Run!
  • People walking: nice ass baby
  • Me: Why do I do this to myself?
  • Me:
  • Me:
  • Me at end of run: I love running so much! I would never give this up!

I had one of the best roles ever in the kayak today.. Just saying. It took a while to perfect my role so hopefully I can remember all the little things that made it great so I can do it again!!

Living batteries? How clams can power up an electric motor
Animal cyborgs have already begun their rise as scientists transform creatures into living batteries capable of powering tiny spy gadgets or sensors.

There are a number of ethical issues here.. Who has the right to decided which lives should have their energy harvested? Dislike.

This is long overdue.

I’ve been meaning to write this blog for months.

I felt as though for a moment my life had turned into settling. Settling for whatever was available. Settling for what I thought I should have, instead of what and who I truly deserve to be.

What has changed about me.. so much that I doubt I could ever fit it into one blog post or even a million of them.

I’ve prioritized my life. I’m not going to fall into the roles that society has created for me. Rather I’m engaging in a lifestyle worthy of my time. A life that is worth living.

I’ve been writing a lot lately, nothing I’m ready to post to my bloguniverse but I am still excited for new thoughts and ideas to be on paper. Tangible evidence of creation that lies within the mind.

I’m excited for the summer. I’m not excited about scouting alone, but I am excited for the opportunity to see new places and to make a difference in parks and other places. I enjoy learning about how to conserve the resources we have within the forest and how we can reduce the impact of invasive flora and fauna. I’m excited to get to run in a new place almost every night. It keeps things forever interesting.

I’m excited to go do things with all my friends (old and new)!

I’m glad I’ve made some significant life changes and although I may not be sure which direction my path is headed (1,2,3, or 4… sorry bad surveying joke). I am sure that wherever it takes me is exactly where I need to be.

A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise.

I love this quote. I find it to be very inspiring!

Blind Man Goes for a Spin in Google’s New Driverless Car

In celebration of 200,000 miles driven without an actual human driver, Google has provided us a glimpse of just how powerful this technology will be for people who are blind. A video produced by the company shows Steve Mahan drive from his house to a local Taco Bell. Mahan is 95 percent blind, or as he puts it “well past legally blind.” As he turns into the driveway of Taco Bell, Mahan exclaims breathlessly, “How neat!” We couldn’t agree more.

This is fantastic.

Inspiring. It’s always great to see technology improving the quality of life for everyone! Personally, I prefer to drive my own car. However I think this is a great step for people who due to physical limitations cannot obtain a driver’s license.
